"The new Eden"

Films: Habitat (1997)

Alias: None

Type: Mutant

Location: Haunted home/Eldritch location

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral, leaning on Good

Summary: When the end times draw close, the world begins to rot away. But who wants that? No one, that is. And if one mutated plant person has to fix it, he will.

History: In the distant future, the Ozone layer has weakened, resulting in the air becoming toxic and almost all known plant life dying out. However, that is soon to change. Hank Symes has recently gotten out of a freak accident, and it has given him a new power. He is now one with the plants, and pretty soon, he turns his entire home into a living, sprawling ecosystem. The thing is though, his son is worried about his almost godly powers, and there are people trying to destroy him. But not if he destroys them first.

Notable Kills: Any time Hank's habitat kills, it’s enough to make you reconsider botany.

Final Fate: Eventually, Hank and his newly converted wife decide to leave their son in peace, and depart to the skies above so that they may spread fertile plant life across the world once more.

Powers/Abilities: Hank can disperse into spores, and create entire environments filled with sapient plant life.

Weakness: None.

Scariness Factor: 4-You'd better hope you still have a green thumb, otherwise you're going to be on this practical nature God's bad side. Even your dead corpse can be reanimated by this guy, if the various carnivorous plants and traps don’t get you first. Still, he's not exactly evil, and just wants the best for a dying world.

Trivia: -This was the only film done in Sony's earliest form of analog HD format.

-This was the directorial debut of special effects designer Rene Daadler. It shows rather nicely.

More like the worst fungus one could ask for.
Should have invested in pesticides.
